national good hair day – ghd

I have fine curly hair.  It is the opposite of the holy grail of hair – it is often just simply hellish. It doesn’t like humidity, rain and it is especially cursed by the wind.  People wonder why I have had short hair for the last thirty years. It is simply easier to deal with when it is short and bad hair days are the norm.  In fact  after one particularly bad experience with a hairdryer, my Daughter said to me “Mum, you know how you say some days your hair looks like you stuck your fingers in a socket?  Well, this morning you actually do.”  Absolute bad hair day all round.  So I do like the concept of looking on the bright side of things – we never really say “It’s a good hair day” – do we? So ghd have decided to go looking for the positive, for us to go looking for the good hair days and actually celebrate them.  On 4th November it is National Good Hair Day. They have launched a nationwide competition on the ghd Australia Facebook page encouraging us to upload and share a photo of their ‘good hair day’, or by hash tagging #goodhairday on twitter or instagram showcasing your ghd styling skills. The winner will get return flights to Sydney, two nights in a luxury hotel, $1000 Ksubi voucher, twelve complementary blow dries and an amazing ghd prize pack including ghd air.  Five runners-up with receive a ghd prize pack. You can also hand in your old dryer at a ghd salon for $50 off a new ghd air. I think I will give away (randomly from our FB page) a ghd brush and hair product on the 4th as well, just to add to the fun! The boys at Four Eyes blog are showcasing gorgeous hair which I have loved following – so pop on over to their page and check out all the fabulous good hair days.

Love the photo we used from ghd Presents Blue Sky : Ingrid Starnes and Twenty Seven Names – hair by Michael Beel of Buoy in Wellington.
