iDFW 2014

I am feeling more than a bit excited right now about my very first iDFW. I have never been to Dunedin (and that is just plain embarrassing lets be fair) so I am seriously expecting my time in Dunedin to be full of iD events and a whole heap of shopping (or looking depending on my wallet).  I am, of course, going to visit Plume.  Margie Robertson’s curated mix of Nom*D, Zambesi, Comme Des Garcons, Zambesi, Jimmy D and Palladium to name a few, is a must-visit for me. As is Company of Strangers who are releasing their collaboration with Chaos & Harmony, the Schiele Boot – while we are down there for iD.  Some of my favourite fashion people are heading down there with me so it looks like it will just be fabulous fashion and people the whole time!  I think my family is hoping that I actually come back at some point…

The International Emerging Designer Awards have some very prestigious judges this year with internationals Paris based Martin Grant and UK fashion lecturer Lucy Jones.  The panel is rounded out by our very own Margi Robertson, Tanya Carlson, and Francis Hooper. This year makes its 10th anniversary (really ten years?) and I think other than seeing Martin Grant’s collection on the runway, it is the IEYDA that I am really looking forward to seeing.
