perfect white pt2

So my obsession with all things white continues, only this time instead of white on the walls and floors, I am looking at white as accents. For me white gives all the colour I use a bit of a place for the eye to rest, so I don’t get too overwhelming with my colour.  That said, there is no chance I am going to adjust my use of strong colour for anyone. I love it, but I also love white too… So here are my favourite pieces of white at the moment…

I first met Gidon Bing when I bought a lamp off of him on Trade Me years ago.  Since then I have watched his handiwork pop up here and there, and am now completely taken with his ceramics.  Stocked at Simon James Concept Store in Herne Bay Auckland, they are simple, and elegant. I love the watering can, which to my mind is a beautiful object that is also practical too.  That said, its it was never used as a watering can – possibly used for flowers, it wouldn’t matter. I have a rather large collection of white ceramics, and I think this may have to come and live with me.  Soon.  They retail for $134

Trestle Union are a smart pair of guys who have taken their AUT studies from the academic and into the commercial.  Trestle Union started as a study project and was so successful, that it is now a business in it’s own right.  The thing about these trestles is that they are so incredibly versatile. The trestle I have in one of the boys bedrooms, is a desk (obviously) and has been used to extend the table for a dinner party, it has been lent to friends for work projects and has now ended up in a bach as extra seating when large numbers of family visit. It is concise (size-wise when it is taken apart) and has a slick modern look to it. And they won’t break the bank. At only $260 each, find them at TRESTLE UNION. White shot by Larnie Nicolson for Homestyle magazine, styled by moi.

White Ecoya

Ecoya have come up with a beautiful new soy candle called With Love and it embraces the fact that we are all drawn to beautiful candles as gift. It comes beautifully packaged in white and covered in hugs and kisses, with a fluted edged, lidded jar (which can be kept for later use).  With creamy notes of Sandalwood, Vanilla and Musk – it is exactly all the notes I love.  For a list of stockists, go to ECOYA but also try Redcurrant.  It retails for just $49

I, of course, am still in love with all things Scandi.  This table from Parnell Agencies is a perfect example with its dipped wooden legs and matt white top. I don’t think you can have too many coffee tables personally, you have to have somewhere to put your cup of tea and your book! This is stocked at COLLECTED and retails for $295

Lastly, I always like to include something that is a good budget option.  On-trend with its faceted edges, this sweet little vase from Parnell Agencies retails for just $15 but I have five of them to give away. Just comment below, or like this post on FB and you can go into the draw. To buy one, just got to Frankie & Flo in Newmarket, or COLLECTED

    • Pretty right? That is my one I took photos of, it looks just as pretty without the flowers…

  1. Just out of curiosity (and because I love that vase so much!) has a winner been drawn for the vase yet?

  2. Oh good grief! Do you know they haven’t? They are sitting under my desk all ready to go. How terribly embarrassing Sarah! Better get onto that then… just let me get through Fashion Week this week and I will be right on it! How embarrassing…

  3. Sarah Yang – I have just drawn the five winners (finally) and you are one of them – could you please send me your address so I can get this in the post for you? Thanks

  4. Hi Anya, I’ve just seen this now. Am I too late? Fingers crossed I’m not! Will email you my address
