My obsession with all things nordic is nothing new. The white walls and floors, the colour confidence and the simple and functional lines of the furniture just really speak to me. And there is so much lovely stuff around at the moment that I thought I would share it.
While I was visiting my Sister in the States, she gifted me with a Danish Enamel casserole dish in the most glorious yellow. It is NEVER going into a cupboard in my house – it is permanently going to live on my stovetop because it is just too beautiful to hide. I am feeling rather smug that I managed to fit it into my luggage and get it home in one piece. But then I did manage to also get a rather large rug home at the same time…
This beautiful, and aptly named Copenhagen Sofa from Freedom is one of my absolute favorites at the moment. I am thinking of changing the colour on the walls of one of the rooms in my house just so I can make it work at home – it is just that stunning! It retails for just $1399 and is pretty close to perfect. It is a great length with extra cushions for the minimalist. Which isn’t me of course, I would just have to add some more!!!
I am completely in love with they Mariska Meijers birch wood tray in the most vibrant pinks. Available from Bolt Of Cloth it retails for $95 and I just can’t stop thinking about it…
Kikki.K that quintessential Nordic inspired company has done the loveliest white and gold china as part of their current range. Everytime I see it, I think of my photographer Michelle Weir, and how perfectly it would suit her beautifully curated apartment she shares with her architect Husband Doug.
Finally, Mr Bigglesworthy has their new exhibition of furniture called Nordic Home. There are some scandinavian gems with lots of wood, leather and clean lines. You can find them online here. I wouldn’t wait too long, as I would imagine they will go quickly!
