tutti frutti

We can take this interior design lark a bit too seriously at times.  Children’s rooms are the one place what we can have some fun I love all the fruit things that are coming through at the moment – they really are colorful and hilarious and here are my favorites at present… and should obviously not be limited to just the spaces for children…

Down to The Woods do this brilliant front door mat in a watermelon slice shape.  Why nobody thought of that earlier I just don’t know… stocked at Teapea, retails for $65

K Mart has this pineapple jar (you might have seen this image before) for just $9 – how cheap and cheerful is that?  It comes in yellow but also in a slightly more subdued white as well.

I love these German-made Heico Lamps from Teapea in Wellington – they both retail for $225.  I can vouch for the durability of these lamps, Theo had one since he was a tiny baby (it is a toadstool) and he still likes to put it on in his room from time to time (so we have had it for 12 years and it is still going).  I am waiting for him to grow out of it so I can have it but it doesn’t look like it is happening anytime soon!  My favourite is the cockatoo (I have a thing about birds)…

I LOVE this watermelon pillowcase from White Fox & Co stocked at Collected. It is all kinds of happiness for you to sleep on.  It has been put in my Daughter’s room with all her crazy colour. What is not to love?

Alex Fulton in all her colourful glory has some GORGEOUS colorful fruit in her AFD Store – but these Made By Mosey ($75) cushions just take the cake (as it were). You can drop into store, email them at afdstore@alexfultondesign.co.nz or you can call them (035728022) and they will arrange a purchase.  Oh and the gift wrapping is just second to none!

    • I bought it at the Andy Warhol Exhibition at Te Papa last year (?) – we bought it back as hand luggage on the plane… it is rather spectacular but I have never seen another on before or since sorry!
