ghd – national good hair day
A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life – so said Coco Chanel
I love that we get to re-invent ourselves with a great haircut (I probably do this more frequently than most) but if the logic holds, we get to do that pretty much every day when we ‘do’ our hair. We all know how much whether we are having a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ hair day affects how we generally face the day. It is one of the reasons I go back time and again to short hair. It is easy to manage (spray it in place and away you go) and I can often get a couple of days wear out of it without having to wash it everyday.
If you had told me that even with short hair I would benefit from a ghd styling tool, I would have laughed at you. But earlier this year I got given the ghd Eclipse and thought I had better give it a try. Never really having used a styler before it took me a week or so to get the hang of it, but now I wouldn’t be without it. It quite literally saved me at NZFW on frantic mornings when I normally wouldn’t have cared quite so much whether my hair ‘worked’ or not. I am a convert. I currently spend my time hiding it from The Daughter as we already fight over the ghd dryer (I think I have possibly lost that particular battle)…
So as with last year, ghd has launched National Good Hair Day – and it is today 27th September. You only have a couple of days left to get $40 off selected ghd products when trading in any old electrical appliance, and they have launched a nationwide Instagram competition encouraging ghd fans to have their 15 seconds of ghd fame by following @ghdnz on Instagram and upload a video showing (and telling) what a ‘good hair day’ feels like with the hash tag #NGHD.
